Information you share

For an account, we handle your email address, sign-in information, account identifier, username, and any profile photo you add. When you sign in through Apple or Google, we receive the account information that provider makes available for sign-in.

Garden stores the content and activity you create: Seeds, plans, invitations, participation and completion records, comments, messages, and photos, video, or audio you submit. We also handle information you send us in support requests or beta feedback. If you join an email waitlist, we store your email address to send the updates you requested.

Permissions & technical information

Features can ask for access to your camera, selected photos, microphone, location, or motion and fitness activity. For example, location and activity measurements can help record or verify a Seed. You control device permissions in system settings.

In location-based Seeds, your precise location and route can be shown to other members of that Seed. Routes can remain visible to them as part of the Seed afterward.

We and our service providers process technical information such as network addresses, device and app details, usage events, and error information to operate, protect, and improve Garden. Notification delivery uses a device notification token. Browser storage and cookies support functions such as sign-in and preferences.

How information is used

We use information to run accounts and Seeds; help people plan, participate, and communicate; provide AI-assisted features; send service notifications; respond to requests and safety reports; prevent abuse; and understand and fix problems.

Content shared publicly, including public Seed pages and previews, can be viewed by people without a Garden account. People who receive content can save or share their own copies. Consider the audience and the information you include before sharing.

Other members of Seeds and conversations you join can see your username, profile photo, and what you share there.

AI features

Garden uses OpenAI and Anthropic for AI-assisted features such as creating Seeds, suggestions, and checking submitted activity. Depending on the feature, these providers receive your prompt, supporting context, and text, images, audio, or video submitted for processing. Content you enter can contain personal information.

AI processing takes place on provider infrastructure. Provider handling and retention depend on the service and its configuration. Please consider what personal information you include in prompts and uploads.

Services that help run Garden

Our services include Supabase for accounts, databases, and file storage; Railway, Vercel, and OpenAI for hosting infrastructure; OpenAI and Anthropic for AI processing; PostHog for usage analytics; and Shake for beta feedback and diagnostics. Apple provides TestFlight and push notification delivery. Email services help deliver account and service messages. These services process information for the functions they provide, and their own terms and privacy notices also describe their handling.

Information may be processed outside your country. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to address fraud, abuse, or threats to people or the service.

Retention & your choices

Account information and content are kept while your account exists, unless you or we delete them. Records may also need to be retained to address security incidents, disputes, or legal obligations. Backups, operational logs, and provider records can have different retention periods; deleting content does not necessarily remove every copy immediately.

Some messages, comments, and shared Seed records can remain after account deletion with the account link removed. The content itself may still contain identifying information that you or others entered.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, or removal from the email waitlist, by contacting us. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account. Available rights and exceptions depend on where you live. Contact us for information about a specific record or retention period.

You can change device permissions and notification settings at any time. Clearing browser storage can sign you out; it does not delete your Garden account. If you are a parent or guardian with a question about a child’s information, please contact us.

Contact & changes

For privacy questions or requests, email gardener@join-garden.com. Include your Garden username if relevant, but never send passwords or sign-in codes.

We update this notice as Garden changes. The date above identifies the latest revision.
